This is a list of pinball Easter eggs I’ve discovered while looking through the game code for modern Stern SPIKE tables. For older pinball machines, I recommend checking Cows and Easter Eggs, which has a large number of secrets and button combos from earlier generations.
Most of these codes came from analyzing game binaries. I’ve written a blog post about how I found them, starting with a tool for comparing software releases and eventually following the flipper-input code to the tables of hidden codes.
To enter a code, use the flipper buttons while the machine is on its attract screen, between games. Start by pressing left and right together, then release both. For each number, press the left flipper that many times, followed by one right-flipper press to move to the next number. After the final number, the common table mechanism uses a second right press to submit.
King Kong · CAT mode
Press Play, or step through each press.
Release between presses.This example shows the Cat easter egg sequence for King Kong. You’re essentially typing on a two-button keyboard: left counts out a letter, right moves to the next one. C=3, A=1, T=20. Use Play, pause the animation, or step through each press. Choose “Show demonstration” below to load another code into the illustration.
Please keep in mind that I haven’t personally confirmed most of these codes. I used a script to analyze the game binaries I found online, and I ran the intial search in September of 2026. I’ll try to keep on top of game code updates, but I can’t guarantee that these codes will work on the latest shipping versions of all games.
Entry timing, game state and the finish sequence have not been checked for every title. The illustration describes an entry pattern; it isn’t confirmation that every listed code will activate on every release. A blank description means I haven’t identified its effect yet.
